Everyone's probably heard of the seven sins, right? But are not the sins only desire and ignorance combined?
Desire is want, the attraction of physical and metaphysical objects and concepts. Ignorance is the capacity to learn, so subconsciously people try to learn to reduce ignorance by learning and isn't that basically curiosity?
Want and curiosity are both incorporated into sin, and are probably the most basic aspects of the seven sins. Like how greed is the desire to have something but the ignorance makes man want more to know more, and envy is the desire of things that others have while ignorance makes us want to know what it's like to have it, what it's like to be the other person. War is also caused by desire and ignorance; both sides want something, maybe the same or different thing(s), but they can only fight because they are too ignorant to see a peaceful solution. No one really knows a fool proof way for everyone to get what they want.
So are greed and ignorance the greatest enemy of mankind? Are humans forever destined to fight them? Will the people win? I really doubt it, but who knows?

ReplyDeleteYes, well, I don't know what you're trying to prove here. Just like we have luckiness and blha blah is called Murphy's law, the want and curiosity is called the seven deadly sins.
*must* people fight the wants and the curiosity? Why do we have to fight it in the first place?
I'm not going against your post, I am *answering* in *questions* just to arouse more thoughts.
